Open XML Object Model

Still looking for a way to determine a document property without opening the
document. A la "dsofile" system. This link:

at leasts suggests the possibility tht it can be done, but I don't see the
"Open XML Object Model" on which it appears to be based in the list of
Tools|References in VBA.
Does anyone know if an Open XML Object Model is available in VBA?

Both of those depend on the version of Word being used and whether it is
MacWord.
