tI have a simple template I am creating from scratch where the person enters
the date of the letter on the first page, along with the "reg number".  I
want the date and the reg number to be displayed on the other pages as well,
at the top of the page, sora like a header...but not necissarily in the
header.  Any ideas on how this can work?

Right now - I currently copied a macro from another template to let the user
know where to enter the reg number and the date.  I used the Field Button
MacroName and the AcceptAllChangesShown Macro name for the enter reg number
text.

The date is also a field that is just a date, formatted as such.  The date
will not usually be the current date - so this needs to actually be entered
in the document by the user.

I am not too familiar with templates, but have been asked to create one...so
- am I on the right track - and any suggestions to repeat the text/dates in
different pages in the document?  Please be specific if possible - and thank
you in advance!!!

Hi,

It sounds like you want to use a ref field. You can look at the following
sites for more information:

and for a very detailed explanation (this site is so good you probably want
to bookmark it):
