Case Property in Word 2003

Am developing a protected template in word 2003.  There are a number of
dropdown fields and I have used the Case Property where the list exceeds the
regular field dropdown limitations.  The problem:  some of the items in the
list have a subset of items the user would need to select so: select A from
list, which has a selection subset of a, b or c.

Is there an easy way to make this work?  I have never set up anything that
passes off to a sub-routine if that is what is required.

Any assistance in getting this set up to work would be greatly
appreciated...my thanks - Lenny

See the Cascading Listboxes section of the following page on fellow MVP Greg

Greg also has some information on his site on how to do this with dropdown
type formfields as used in a protected document.

Hope this helps.

Doug:  first off - my thanks for your response.  The info is great

However, I have a question... can I accomplish the same objective without
the "box"?  In my protected template (2003), I have a simple dropdown list
field inside a table cell with 19 Action Codes the user can select from.
Once selected, the item appears in the Action Code cell and the appropriate
Reason Code is automatically dropped into a different cell (Action Code). At
this point it would be relative easy to do with 'case' but it is not exactly
straightforward....some of the items in the list have only one corresponding
Reason Code, others have up to 25 Reason Codes, which the user needs to be
able to select 1 of the 25 which will then be dropped into the Reason Code
block.  Are we talking apples and oranges?

Best regards - Lenny
