Is there any way to make hyperlinks in a Word.doc that will jump the user seamlessly into a bookmarked section of text within a PDF displayed in Acrobat? This functionality is available from the Acrobat add-in to Word. If you have installed Acrobat to create your PDFs then the add-in is installed as a matter of course. If when you mention Acrobat you really mean 'Reader' and you have used some other lesser application to create the PDFs then all bets are off. OK, I do have Acrobat 8 Pro installed (full install), and Word 2003. When I create a hyperlink in Word and specify the PDF that has numerous bookmarks that I need to link to, Word says, "Microsoft Word could not open this file or could not parse a file of this type." - there appears to be no way to create the link, in Word, to the PDF bookmarks. Is there some other procedure that one needs to follow to make the hyperlink? If the Acrobat help contains any info on this 'add-in', it isn't revealed by typing 'add-in' into Acrobat help, nor by typing 'acrobat' into Word help. > If you have installed Acrobat to create your PDFs then the add-in is > installed as a matter of course. To further clarify, I also have PDFMaker installed on my PC. Could it be that one can only make such hyperlinks if one has created the PDF from a Word.doc using PDFMaker? Nope, I tried that, and can't create hyperlinks from Word to bookmarks in a PDF that I created from a Word Doc and generated using PDFMaker. > Could it be > that one can only make such hyperlinks if one has created the PDF from a > Word.doc using PDFMaker? |
