Is it possible to create a macro that determine if one or more tables in a
document extend into margins and show the result in a new document ?

Don't know if this will help. Can you search for any table that is over 100%
wide? As 100% reflects the margin width of the page.
Any that are over 100%, can be - say Highlighted, then Find, "Highlight all
items found in:" copy move document, paste.
I am not that proficeint with VBA so hopefully this will point you to a
possible solution.
Hope this helps
