Pasting from Word 2002 to Outlook 2003

I can do something very simple manually: open a document (which
contains some graphics/tables); select the whole document, copy it and
paste it into an Outlook message. When I then send it and receive it,
all tables, etc. are preserved. I can't replicate this
programatically. All attempts end up w/tables/graphics stripped out.
Looking for some VBA help! TIA.
