Macros in Global Templates

Hi,

I want to create some macros that will be available to every document in
Word whether it is a new document or an existing one. I have followed the
article below, but my macros are only available by opening the template. The
only way to make the macros available is to import them into the normal.dot
template.

Does anyone have any help for this?

Chris.

Save your template containing the macros in the Word Startup folder.  To
determine the location, select Options from the Tools menu and then go to
the File Locations tab.  It is usually:

C:\Documents and Setttings\[user name]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup\

Signature

Hope this helps.

>C:\Documents and Setttings\[user name]\Application
>Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup\

will load the global template for that user.

If you want it to load for ANY user on that machine, put it in:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Startup

or something similar.

Also, putting a global template into Startup will load it automatically, on
Startup.  If you do not want this, you can have a global template (a code
container essentially) in any folder, anywhere on your network.  Then you can
load it whenever you want.

Most people use Startup as it IS automatic.
