Hello everyone,

I have a problem with page code. Somehow the TOC code appeared in my
document and I typed and formatted text in it. Then I realized that all my
text is a code. Is there any way I can delete the code but save the text and
formatting?

Thanks!

You can use cut and paste to move the text that you inadvertently added
inside the field code. Then use Alt+F9 to hide the field codes of your
document (the command is a toggle). Update the TOC.

I tried but it didn't help. The text is rather complicated with section
breaks. If I cut it and paste in a separate document it takes the TOC code
too.

Cut and paste the field into another document, but do *not* update it; then
select it and press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to unlink it (that is, convert it to
text). That should work.

Note, however, that this does not work for text actually *inside* the field
*code*; that is, for text that does not display when field codes are hidden.
Such text must be carefully cut and pasted out of the field code.
