I  have a number of different kinds of macros that run fine in Word 97 and
Word 2000 but take about twice as long to run in Word 2003 on an XP machine.

Thanks for your help.

Someone on another list has also noticed a slowdown and suggested
that it might have something to do with the translation of VBA to .NET.

The slowdown is significant. One of my macros takes 1 min 8 sec on
Word 2000 and takes 8 min 15 sec on Word 2003.

It could be that something is wrong with my Word 2003 setup but if so
I've been unable to discover it. The slowness happens consistently
without fail and with all my macros which use a variety of VBA commands.

Does Word 2003 require that macros be rewritten using different
(i.e., .NET) commands in order to achieve the same speed?

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.
