If you don't have your original CD you'll have to buy a new copy.

If you have the original CD but have lost the registration key, then contact
Microsoft customer support, explain the situation and ask them for a
replacement key.

If there were a legal free download of the program, nobody would buy it!

Jonathan,
I have the disks to re-install MS Works 2000. However, the registration is
asking for a  key code that is 25 characters. The code that is with the disks
only has 20 characters.  Is it possible to somehow get this code to work fr
installation?

No, you need the original 25-digit code that came with Word. If you have
Works Suite (rather than just Word) and the original packaging, you should
find the 25-digit key somewhere.

If you can't find it, contact Microsoft customer service and ask for a new
key.
