I have been having trouble with the AutoRecover feature on Word 2000.  I have
the AutoRecover set to save every 3 minutes.  But recently I have had some
trouble with saving to my CD drive and the program locks up and I have to
close it.  When I restart Word the recovered file does not come up and I
cannot find where it is located because the place where it's supposed to be
according to File locations doesn't exist.  There is no PROFILE folder in my
WINDOWS folder nor is there an APPLICATION DATA folder.

Recently, I saw a flashed message stating something like SAVE OR RECOVER WAS
DIABLED FOR THIS APPLICATION.  However AUTORECOVER is checked in the Options
section.

You should NEVER save a document from Word to a CD.  ALWAYS save to the hard
disk and then use Windows Explorer or some CD burning software to copy the
document to the CD.

If you follow the above advice, your problem will probably disappear.
However, you should probably increase the autorecover save interval as every
3 minutes may start to cause interference with your work.
