I need to write a program in VB6 that will launch Micorsoft Word, my
secretary will then type a letter. I need VB to know how long it took to
type and how many keys were pressed - or how many words were typed - and to
log this information in a database.

I am lost as how to do this? Maybe a macro in Word?

Any ideas apprecaited.

thanks

Are you wanting someone to just give you the code and instructions for how to use it, or were you planning to come up with any of
this on your own? Have you ever written any code? If the answer to the 1st question is that you are hoping for a code handout with
instructions, and the answer to the 2nd question is no, then you need to open up your wallet and tell the group that you want to pay
for this work. Maybe the secretary knows how to write the code to track her own performance.

If I wanted, how does one pay for work through a newsgroup?

I would suggest following this link: http://word.mvps.org/AboutMVPs/index.htm

Look toward the bottom of the page about MVPs getting paid. You should be able to follow the trail to specific MVP sites where you
will find some of these experts who will write good code for you on a contract basis.
