I am trying to import a document from Microsoft Word into Macromedia's
RoboHelp Office X5 HTML Help.

I can't be certain about the original format of the source image files, but
what I am seeing is that some files get imported as .gif files, some get
imported as .jpg and some links break, because they reference .png formats.

So I am wondering if there is a way to search the source document for images
stored in the word document and extract them in whatever their original file
formats were.

I have image processing software that would then let me convert them all to
a compatible format for my help project, which would be .gif or .jpg.  The
.png format is not compatible with JavaHelp, which is my final output, and
even if it was, RoboHelp is not extracting those files.

Any help is appreciated

All images within a Word document are in WMF format, regardless of their
original format.

If you save the document as HTML, the graphics will be saved separately as
GIFs.
