Good afternoon!

As the sun sinks slowly into the west, one last question before the weekend.

Is it possible to create a button which is embedded directly into a
document, which can be attached to VBA code.

I know you can do this in Excel, I just can't find the command button tool
anywhere in Word.

Thanks in advance & have a good weekend!

Yes, but depending on what you want to do, this may not be the best option
as the button properties are different in Word.
View > Toolbars > Control Toolbox.

While the other responders pointed you at the command button on the Control
Toolbox (which is an ActiveX control), there are ample reasons to avoid
those beasts -- see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnword2k2/html/
odc_activeX.asp
.

The MacroButton field is much simpler and has fewer drawbacks. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/UsingMacroButton.htm for a discussion.
