Numbering pages in Word

I need to number pages starting with 000001 and going through 999999. I have
tried inserting page numbers both using the header/footer option and the
insert/page number option. No luck. Is it possible?

Add a formatting switch to the page field: { PAGE \# "000000" }. You won't
get to 999999, though. the maximum page number is 32k.

Thanks for your resopnse. I am sorry to say that I don't know ho to do what
you recommend. How do you add a "formatting switch?"

Press Alt-F9 to display field codes, then type it in.
