Windows XP makes me crazy by its peculiar way to handle read-only attributes
of folders and files. When trying to manipulate the attributes manually
through the property dialog, very strange things happen. And strange things
also happen when trying to manipulate the attributes through VBA-code by
means of the file systen objekt.

Right now I have a problem with a main folder containing subfolders and
files. I would like to rename the main folder but get the message Permission
Denied. Probably because the main folder and all subfolders show a"dimmed"
read-only attribute when examined in the property dialog. But none of the
files are read-only!

Checking the folder attributes by means of code does NOT indicate any
read-only settings.

I'm CONFUSED - PLEASE HELP!
