Missing Toolbars

I have an application that uses Word 2000 to open
documents.  Sometimes users find that it opens with the
menubar and toolbars missing, and nothing can be done to
restore them.  Has anyone else come across this?

I would be grateful for any ideas.

Thanks
Helen
