Why does my hyperlink look like this: HYPERLINK "Z%20Greek%20Dictionary.doc"\
"four_zero_one_two, when it really should look like this: 4012 with blue
numbers and a line under it?

Have you got the field codes switched on? Check by right clicking the
hyperlink (or on a Mac control+click) and checking out the field codes
contextual menu item

Thank you, Sol Apache. I didn't know about field codes and so when I looked
it up in help it told me to either do a shift +F9 or ALT+F9. Fixed 'em right
up. Don't know how they got turned off in the first place.
