I have a document in Word that I want to be able to insert a symbol, which
currently does not exist in the format dropdown box to insert a symbol. The
symbol I would like to be able to add would be a box with an x inside it.
Any ideas would be very helpful.

Hi, Clyde. Try changing the font to Wingdings. It should be in there. Also,

Type the letter T and format it with Wingdings 2 font.
Alternatively, go to Insert > Symbol, select the Wingdings 2 font, and
find the x-in-box character in the left half of the fourth row.
