How do I allow users to select multiple options in a drop-down list in Word?

I am creating a form where managers select the security roles they want to
assign to a user account.  User may require anywhere from one to 5 security
roles.

You cannot do that with a dropdown formfield.  You can however do it if you
use a listbox on a user form.

See the article "How to find out which Items are selected in a Multi-Select

ListBox" at:

Neither the dropdown on the Forms toolbar nor the combobox on the Control
Toolbox supports multiple selection. You'll have to use a list box or combo
box in a Userform (http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm)
and set its Multiselect property to fmMultiSelectMulti (a fancy name for the
constant 1). You'll then have to learn how to use the .Selected(i) property
to determine which items were selected.

An alternative is to use a series of check boxes, assuming you have enough
space on the form to hold them all.
