I am trying to convert a .doc file ( a manuscript ) to a .pdf to transfer to Palm. Adding converters was not the answer. You need the to get the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not just the free Adobe Reader... see http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/main.html ) or one of Acrobat's many shareware and freeware clones (see http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=pdf+converter&btnG=Search ) . > I am trying to convert a .doc file ( a manuscript ) to a .pdf to transfer to > Palm. If you have Acrobat installed (the full version, not just the reader) there is a "printer" installed called "Adobe PDF". Just select that printer from Word and print your file. The PDF will be generated. Many of the free PDF generators work the same way. There are many programs out there that will generate a PDF from "any" file... Acrobat is the original (expensive) one but there are also free ones. (Google it). They install and then act like a printer.... you select the pdf generator and then "print" your file... resulting in a PDF of your file.
