Hello -

I have many word documents that have bitmaps pasted inside, and I am
trying to determine if Word tracks this quality.

Is there some way to search for items like this (like in Outlook where
an attachment shows a paperclip) or is there some attribute these files
have ?

I have hundreds of them and so I was hoping there was an
add-in or some Macro that's been built that could sort it out so I
could see it in Windows Explorer,  or at least create a separate list.

There's no simple way to do this. You could write a macro that opens each
document in turn, then examines the Shapes and InlineShapes collections,
looking for shapes of type msoPicture (perhaps you also need
msoLinkedPicture?). Note that all inserted graphics are, internally, in WMF
form regardless of their original format.
