is it possible to select all inlineshapes at once - or do i have to iterate
through the collection

No

Yes

So far, IMHO, there is no "at once" at all.
Always one after the other. Unless you got
a billion processor system like in your head.

I believe that you have to work each one separately.  Something like:

Sub Test()
Dim oShape As InlineShape
For Each oShape In ActiveDocument.InlineShapes
  oShape.Height = 100
  oShape.Width = 100
Next oShape
End Sub
