Hi,
I've created a form for a website for a customer of mine specially made by
yahoo geocities (doesn't affect situational problem though). I used MS Word to created it and tried two things to fix the issue:
1. I used the "file>Save as web page" and you get the %20 thing between spaces so it cant be added as a downloadable link on the site.
2.I took the html code/script from the saved form and added it to a form of the geocities site and it also wont work.
So now that I've told you what I'VE done, I'll tell ya what I need help with:
Why is it that when I/someone clicks on the Submit Button that nothing happens and/or the form is not sent?

PLEASE help.

Andrew,
              these are not Word or even Windows issues, rather GeoCities
issues.
Have you read the Geo FAQ?
http://geocities.yahoo.com/ps/learn2/Explain.html#Help

The reason you get the %20 thing is because you have a blank space between
words in your page name. Internet pages should never be named in this
manner. The most efficient method is the old DOS 7-3  or 8-4 name for files.
If you have a need for more than use the underscore key. Blank spaces are
bad. The earlier versions of Netscape would not even open a page with blank
spaces in the name.

For any assistance on the form script a URL is necessary.

Well yes, but my file name is: file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/Desktop/Final%20Form.htm

the file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/Desktop/Final%20Form.htm

is not editable on my computer b/c of many things, so that cannot become Documents_and_Settings. So pretty
much im outta luck.

That INVALID file location and name is also what your form is failing!

> >>            Here's a Google on "Ms-Word web pages"

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=Ms-Word+Web+pages&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG
=Google+Search

Read EVERY thread in which either IMAGES, GRAPHICS or HYPERLINKS are
mentioned and you will eventually read why your links are failing:
http://groups.google.com/groups?safe=images&ie=UTF-8&as_ugroup=microsoft.public.
word.web.authoring&as_drrb=b&as_mind=12&as_minm=2&as_miny=2004&as_maxd=22&as_max
m=6&as_maxy=2004&lr=&hl=en

To go to next page, click on NEXT 25 THREADS in lower right corner of
screen.

As I previously mentioned, UNLESS you provide a URL, I'm wasting my time
attempting to assist you on speculation.
How?
If your unable to repair/correct simple URL links than how can you possibly
convey to me what or where the problem is with your web page?

do you have a subfolder created named "Documents and Settings"
at Geo Cities off your main root folder?

do you have a second subfolder off that previously mentioned Documents and
Settings folder named "Desktop"? at GeoCities?

Again I feel a need to emphasize that because you do NOT understand simple
directory paths on your website as differentiated between the paths on your
local drive and add to that your unwillingness to provide the URL for the
web page that you make this SIMPLE fix more complicated than necessary and
waste my time and willingness to assist you in the process.

In addition, MOST EVERYTHING is within the realm of being edited or
specified on your computer when performed with understanding. Even Word
offers some options for editing these features, however just because you are
not aware of them, does not mean they are non-existent.

1) You do not have any form ACTION or METHOD specified on that page or in
those lines.

Here are standards
http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/forms/form.html

some tuitorials (this page contains a mass of links to most anything you
might imagine related to forms.
http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/forms/index.html

2) METHODS explanation
http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/forms/methods.html

95 % of the data your have between <forms>and </forms> is unnecessary BLOAT
caused by Word.

3) Please read the above references.
4) The read GeoCities requirements for Forms.
5) Open the page your provided with NotePad and make the corrections.
6) Upload the page when completed.

A google on Forms provides the following:

Andrew,
              Here's a brief example of what I "believe" your attempting to
do:

<FORM    METHOD  = POST
    ENCTYPE = "text/plain"
    ACTION  =
"mailto:Fake@Nowhere.org?subject=Comments from home">

    <Input    name = "Comment">
    <Input    type = submit value = "Send Comment">
</FORM>
You will need to insert the individual lines for your form itself as well as
adding an email address. Please note that the mailto option of delivery will
not work on all browsers. It is also NOT secure. It's much better to use a
server side script.
Andrew C. - 25 Jun 2004 07:40 GMT
<FORM METHOD  = POST
ENCTYPE = "text/plain"
ACTION  = What do I put here?
"mailto:Fake@Nowhere.org?subject=Comments from home HERE">

<Input name = "Comment HERE">
<Input type = submit value HERE = "and Here Send Comment">
</FORM>

I've attaching 2 files on what MS Word Properties look like for Submit and Reset buttons. Hopefully it will help
if you need, also I can get a couple pics from Geocities on what I did. Leme know.
Andrew C. - 25 Jun 2004 07:49 GMT
I cannot get them to send in here. Please provide an email address that I may send them to.
the addres lostinspace@123-universe.com is a dead address if it's not, please send me an
email to Williamac@bellsouth.net and we shall go from there. I shouldn't take too much more
of your time and I apprecieate it greatly what you're doing. Please check back.
