I have the exact same problem as Mandy in Word 2002
(Windows XP):

I've created a an entire website using Word 2002.  When I
insert a hyperlink into a graphic the cursor doesn't
change into a hand when passed over the hyperlinked
graphic.  I also have a graphic for people to save but
when you right click on it you can only "save background"
instead of "save as".

There is no HTML filter for Office 2002.

Any ideas?

Hi Mandy,

To have the 'hand' cursor appear you'll need to either
save as 'Compact HTML' from inside of Word 2000 using the
Office 2000 HTML Filter from
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads or from the same
download the standalone filter that will appear in
Start=>Programs after you install it.

Hi Maggie,

For Word 2002 using File=>Save As Web Page-Filtered is the
equivalent of the Word 2000 Addin Office 2000 Filter.

The 'hand' cursor will work with Filtered Word 2002 HTML pages,
but be sure to also keep a master copy in .doc format if you
want to be able to retain all of the Word features as well.

Bob Buckland you're beautiful. I am experiencing the "no
hand" problem in the IE browser in a web page saved from
Word2000. I searched all thru the MS Knowledge Base and
couldn't find a mention. Your post about 'Compact HTML'
and where to find the download was just what the Dr.
ordered. Thanks for being there!
