Hi everyone. I'm new to webpage building. I've used MSN
Groups, Geocities, and am currently using Tripod for my
family webpage. (I also use Bravenet and copy & paste
their html codes to my site for specific tools) I'd like
to know if there's a way I can use "MS Office 2000
Professional" (Win 98 SE) to build a webpage and then
upload it to the internet. My ISP provides space for free.
I'm tired of the limits imposed by templates provided by
such sites as Tripod, etc.  There are other problems with
doing it this way as well.  Is it 'relatively easy" to
build a page without knowing html? Is there a way I can do
it?  Thanks

Your ISP has limits on both what mayed displayed on their free pages as well
as what technolgies  you are capbale of using on those pages as well.

Using Office to and excusively what portion of Office?
If Word, there are many complications which result in Word pages turned into
web pages under save as.
There are also complications possible when using some of the features of
Office Front Page, which was intended primarily for creating web pages.

IMO, your much better off starting here, than with any MS product capable of
creating web pages.

Hi, thanks for the link BUT  lol Im looking at the site
and I have no idea what it's for.  Sounds pathetic, huh?
Honestly, I know ZILCH about building webpages other than
what is provided on Msn groups and tripod and that sort of
site.  I'm a 100% Newbie in this department.   I guess
what I need is a software that tells me 'what's next' and
will translate anything I do into html to upload to a
site.   Any ideas?  FREEWARE is what I'm thinking. I don't
have 500$ or more for the html editors or whatever.  Thanks

Use Word, Save As, Web Page which is what this forum is about.
As previously mentioned is does restrict your audience and create bloat in
pages as well as other repetitious problems discussed in this forum.

Your alternatives are three:
1) you pay somebody to create pages for you
2) You pay BIG $$ for inefficient software
3) You take the necessary time to learn to create proper pages yourself.
There are numerous ways to do this. One simple method might begin with
keying in some search words at google.

Nowhere in this options is it suggested that somebody will share for free
what they have taken a length of time to learn.
There are thousands and thousands of web pages created exclusive to share
insights into creating web pages with others. Some methods good and some
methods bad.

The old FREE version of FrontPage Express may be found on the internet and
will be more effective than Word. (It will work in newer versions of Windows
with a slight function setback)

There are even a multitude of FP forums and groups which will be able to
provide more diverse support in creating pages with FP than anything
comparable in a Word forum or group.

There are hordes of free web tools for creating pages:
