Hi ,

I have developed a website for intranet where I have
provided links to .doc files on my machine. When I try
opening these docs on other machines it prompts for
username /password continously. If i click cancel then
only it opens the file.

Why is this authentication required?

I am using Microsoft Word Viewer 97 , IIS 5.1 , Windows
XP , IE 6. I have given Anonymous authentication
(IUSR_machinename) to my website with read- write access.
