I want to use MS Word to view some html and xml files, but
I want to see the actual html or xml code, not a rendered
webpage or xml page.  I want to use Word because it allows
me to open and save in different character encodings.  Is
it possible to set Word to view and edit these files just
as text?

Thanks,
-Tho

Hi Tho,

In Tools=>Options=>General turn on
 [x] Confirm conversions at open
then use File=>Open to open an XML or HTML file. When you're
then asked to confirm the file type, select text rather than
HTML or XML.
