Sorry Lostinspace, I didn't do a very good job of
explaining myself.

I meant that when using Word to create a web page, and
when creating a hyperlink, the dialogue box lets you
identify the destination of the hyperlink, it then
defaults to giving the relative address only - it does not
seem to offer the absolute address as an option.

The previous version of Word that I used, gave this as an
option in the hyperlink dialogue box.

Any ideas where this option might have gone?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,
I've never installed the SR-1 in 2000 because I read of numerous
glitches, especially in Access.

Without the SR-1, a relative URL will show for local pages. However, after
establishing that local link you may use the "edit hyperlink" option and
define absolute.

I was able to get an absolute link by opening a non-local web page.
