Hi Jack,
MS chose to discontinue the web page wizard after Word 2002
as part of a security review.
If you copy the WebPage.Wiz (Dec 2000) from Office XP to the
Word 2003 template directory (Tools=>Options=>File=>Locations)
it should still work although it's no longer a supported wizard.

Hi everyone,
I'm a teacher and have used the Word Web Page Wizard in my classes using
Word 2000 and XP. This works great because the class is an introductory
class and many of my students have never used a computer before. So, at the
end of the class we top it off by creating basic multipaged websites using
the Web Page Wizard. This wizard has made it possible for the students to
create simple websites with frames. Without a simple wizard like that they
would be lost.
Well, we just upgraded to Office 2003 and I can't find the Web Page Wizard
in Word anymore. I've searched on Yahoo and Microsoft's Technet website
with no explanations found. Has the Web Page Wizard been removed from Word
2003? Please help, my new class starts in a few weeks and I really need to
figure out how to run that wizard in Word 2003.
Thanks everyone,
Jack >> >>

Hi Bob,
You're idea was a great one, but I couldn't get it to work. I tried exactly
what you said and so did our IT department. We couldn't get it to work.
The Wizard would show up in Word 2003, but when I double click on it, it
just opens a blank page and the wizard never runs. I even tried turning
down macro security to low with no luck. Any other ideas? If not, I'll
just have them use Frontpage I guess but that's a bit more complicated for
them.
Thanks for your idea!

Hi Jack,
Hmmmm. Are these machines that have not had a prior
version of Office/Word installed on them?
After doing some additional testing it appears that
it relies on 4 .DLL files, (plus a number of .HTMs)
and an earlier version of Office being active in
the registry. (i.e. just copying the DLL files
to the 'right place' and registering them didn't
get it working in Word 2003 on a clean installation.
It can be installed from an earlier version
of Word or Office using a custom install.

Hi,
Oh, that would make sense. I think on the Ghost image they did a clean
install of Office 2003 and not an upgrade.
So, you're saying I could use an Office 2002 CD, do a custom installation
and install just the templates and wizards and that would get them to work
under 2003? You're sure a great resource for this group! Thanks so much for
all of your research!

Hi Jack,
You can do a custom install from Word/Office 2000 or XP/2002
but the way they've tied the installation items together,
to install the WebPage Wizard it will also install Word
itself of that version, which may be a good or problem thing
for your use.
If the training is to show people how to use current tools
then your alternate plan, to use FrontPage 2003 may be one
to look into.

Hi Bob,
Yep, I think I'll just go ahead and show them how to use the basics of
FrontPage 2003. Thanks a bunch! Jack
