Hi, I have two questions. I created docs in Word and saved them as web
pages:

1) In web view, why is the 'view html' selection is greyed out? I would like
to view/edit the html code.

2) When I choose Insert | Picture | From File, then select an image file, I
must 'link' to it or it won't show up in a browser. I would like to just
'insert' the image, but when I do, I can't see it in IE6.

I understand Word isn't the best web editor, but it's all I have at work.

Many thanx to any who can help.

Rip

You may not have the HTML capabilities installed in Word, or
corruption has occurred.  It's not installed be default.  Install
or re-install the HTML features  and all should work well.

That's because, in html, you cannot embed an image.  You must
link to it in the html code.  Dunno if that's the answer you
need, but .. it's the best I can do with the info I have from
you.
Until you are sure of what your'e doing, always be sure the
image and the html file are in the same directory.

If it's Word97, it's not too bad.  If it's 2000 or later, it's
pathetic and specifically not meant to do web pages.
Lots of free editors around - a great one with wysiwyg is nVU
at
http://nvu.com/
It's free, and open source, albeit with a bug or two for the more
expeirneced user.  Notetab light is another one.  Google search
will give you lots of choices.

HTH,

: Many thanx to any who can help.

Have you tried opening the html page with NOTEPAD?

Without a URL or your machine in view?
There are numerous problems/configurations that could cause this?

You haven't stated what your seeing when you open the page with IE?
Are you seeing "RED X's"?
