Charting text?09 Mar 2006 00:24 GMT3
I have a user that has a column with text entries like "Accounting"
"Marketing" etc. He wants a column graph where the more "Accounting" appears
in the data column, the taller the chart column.  Does anyone have any ideas
how to do this? I'm thinking a "Count" function, but there ...
xy scatter plot question09 Mar 2006 00:16 GMT2
I have xy scatter plot using dates for x axis.  I change the min and max on
the x axis weekly.  The problem is that the lines are "bleeding" over the y
axis.  How do I make the lines go to the edge of the y axis but not over?
(make sense?).  thanks
Charting number of "name" occurences09 Mar 2006 00:14 GMT1
 Can someone tell me how I can chart the number of times a
name occurs in a column? I would really appreciate it. Maybe just like
a pie chart that everytime a new name is added it adds it in the chart,
and everytime a name is repeated it just adds to the count of the name
How can I graph functions on Excel like a graphing calcutator ?09 Mar 2006 00:11 GMT1
Is there any way to graph functions in y=mx+b form (or quadratic, etc.) in
Excel, similar to graphing calculators, without creating a range of outcomes
then graphing them?
specify date source for x-axis (adjacent to data column in Excel)09 Mar 2006 00:06 GMT1
MS Excel 2002: From a column of dates and an adjacent column of dollar
values, how do I specify the dates in the first column as the source of dates
displayed on the x-axis of a related chart (in another worksheet in the same
workbook)?  The plotted dollar data shows correctly ...

with this
for hours, and just can't get what I want.  I'm new at Excel Charting, so
let me blame it
How to show total in pie chart (Excel 2000)08 Mar 2006 21:55 GMT3
I'm designing a "dashboard" and only want charts, not the raw data, but I
have been unable to show the total of all slices. I need to show the total
number of calls taken at the help desk and the % of the total for each type
(slice).
Changing Time Scale to Seconds on Excel Chart08 Mar 2006 21:29 GMT2
My students are plotting the temperature of a liquid over time.  We can make
a beautiful line graph, but the scale of the X axis is wrong.  It should show
tick marks at 30 second intervals, but instead it just shows 1, 2, 3, etc.  I
have tried checking off "time scale" when I ...
Line Chart08 Mar 2006 21:27 GMT1
I am using Excel 2000.
I have a line chart that charts 4 sets of data, by month, for 1 year.  I am

Line Chart - 208 Mar 2006 21:22 GMT1

does exactly what I want it to do and another one that does not.  How do I
tell which chart I used.  I tried selecting the chart, right clicking the
Matching the min & max values for Primary and Secondary axes08 Mar 2006 17:56 GMT2
I am constructing a tricky scrolling chart that makes use of dynamic named
ranges to allow me to chart a defined number of months of data (eg. 6 months
of sales figures) from a total of 30 available months.
This is all easy to understand and setup with offset formulae and custom

Need 2 rows to display X axis data points for a line graph08 Mar 2006 17:34 GMT1
X axis is 100 data points, and all must be displayed.  They do display, but
are all mushed up.  In Corel, you have the option to display the X axis on up
to 3 rows, with interspersed tick marks.  In Excel, I seem to be able only to
manipulate the number of categories between tick ...
Dynamic Range08 Mar 2006 17:31 GMT2

Datapoints08 Mar 2006 17:31 GMT1
I have automatically generated datapoints in a chart that show up where I put
them, but in Print Preview show up on the top or bottom of the chart .  I
have already tried to align them via the formatting option.
The only time they stay in place is when I make the chart smaller.  ...
