I keep receiving excel.exe errors when trying to start using Microsoft Office 2000 Excel. I can log on with no problems for my user profile, but when I try to open Excel from Start - Programs - Excel. I get these errors.

I'M TRYING TO OPEN A SPREADSHEET OR WORD DOCUMENT AND I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE DOCUMENT IS ALREADY OPEN, AND I HAVE TO CLOSE OR RENAME IT. HOWEVER, THE DOCUMENT IS NOT OPEN.

Upon reopening a spreadsheet file [FILENAME] that was previously used and closed I get the message: FILENAME is locked for editing by SAMEUSER. The file is not in use by any other program or file.

I am using Excel 2002 sp2 on W2K sp2. When I load a spreadsheet and then click on one cell, the operation highlights every cell when I move the mouse cursor, even though I have released the mouse button.
