Help.  I was using this spreadsheet as a merge source,
system crashed.  I was able to reopen and use the merge.
When I tried to bring up the excel spreadsheet with the
data it now says file format is not valid.

As of yesterday, I have been unable to open a particular
Excel file, although I am still able to open others. It
says it is opening but task manager says it's not

I've an xls2000 file in Win98 and it is protected by
password. When I open it recently, the following error
message prompted:

I open up a spreadsheet, make changes, try to save.  Get
message "unable to read file".  Then get message "document

I think $89.00 for Excelfix is a bit excessive for a

I have a corrupted file that crashes Excel 2000 as soon as
I open it, but it automatically gets repaired in later
versions (which just reports "Removed one or more invalid
