All menus and toolbars have disappeared!28 Feb 2006 20:06 GMT1
Hello. My version of Excel has gone a bit mad and all the toolbars and menus
have vanished - how can I get them back? There's not even the File or Tools
menu button to click to reset! Thanks

An .xls file I have always been able to open suddenly cannot open. The error
message says the "file format is not valid". I have tried to change the file
name, to make sure it is an .xls file, but that does not help.
HOw can I get the data from this file?

I cannot get any formulas to calculate, only show the actual formula itself
I have checked that these cells are formatted as numbers

On a HP laptop Excel 2002 the command buttons move to the right each time a
print preview is done. This does not happen on a desktop running the same
software or on another laptop & desktop with Excel 2003. I assume it is a
setting of some sort on the Laptop but have no idea what ...

I can't open Excel, but I use it all the time.  It's not a recent install,
and I haven't recently installed anything else.  I can still access other
parts of Office like Outlook, Word, and my powerpoint viewer.

  I have an excel spreadsheet (6MB).  It crashes whenever I tried to
copy/cut any cell from any worksheet within the workbook.  Any idea on how I

until this morning.  One whole column seems to be "protected", "frozen" or

If I insert a row into my spreadsheet that already contains a column of dates
(02/15/2006) the new cell does not return the correct date.  What I get is
(fx=02/15/2006) in the cell and the displayed result is 1/0/1900.  I have

I have an issue with what I think is a user profile.  At the moment whenever
a particular user attempts to open an excel workbook containing a pivottable,
excel will crash with a general protection fault.
Any other workbook not containing pivottables will open OK.
