Using Excel 2003 SP2 and the prescribed methods in converting test to numbers do not work. i.e.Copy value and Edit/ Paste Special/ Operation (Add/Multiply) does not work. Is there a problem with this version?

In Excel 2003 if cell format is set to Date and you try to switch it to Currency it goes to General. Then you can switch it to Currency from General but it won't switch directly from Date. Happens every time. ----------------

I have tried moving the pdfmaker.xla and .dot files and fixed the problem with word. When I open excel I still get the "AutoExecNew" error message and when I close it I still get the "DistMon" error message. How do I make these go away.
