excel 2002 will not open any document. The open dialog hangs. It will not save as a document that has been created from a new document.

My Word and Excel programs have developed a problem in the Save As function in that the programs can not access the subdirectories of the popup menu resulting in a Not Responding Message and closing down the program.

Any time I attempt to copy data, a dialog box pops up stating that I cannot empty the clipboard, yet when I go into the clipboard there is nothing to clear. I have tried all options but the dialog box still appears and is actually slowing down my work on EXCEL.
