Following problem: I created a pivottable in compatibility mode in Excel 2007 based on an access file (also access 2000 format). The Access file is used to collect data from a SQL server and combine the data.

WinXP SP3 Excel 2007 SP2 Intermittently, when my user single clicks on a single cell, Excel will select it along with 1-2 cells beneath it. If the cell is double-clicked, the cursor shows the cell in edit mode with the additional cells selected.

Is there anyway of overcoming this error??? I cannot save my work from a document saved in office xp, so decided to perhaps copy the sheets over to a new spreadsheet, only to be told the destination workbook has fewer rows and columns than the source workbook!

I have a problem in that when I receive a file from a colleague with Chinese characters in the file name, the file is blank when I open it. I know it was not blank when it was sent to me because it was >0kb in size. Why does Excel do this and how do I fix it?
