I'm entering data in a chart, and want to pull stats off that chart. Most
entries are text, but two columns contain types and codes. Lets say the set
of types is A,B,C, etc.., and the set of codes is 1,2,3, etc... I want to
count to get percentages of rows containing type A that ...

I am entering the date (8/25/2005) in a cell that is date-formatted.  
However, once entered the cell always displays 1/1/1900 (Excel's embedded
calendar start date), i.e. it doesn't display the date I entered.  How do I
get it to display teh date I entered?

Is it possible to add an equation to a range of data? For example, I a
using the MATCH function to return the row number of a last value in
specific column.
=MATCH(LOOKUP(9.9999999999E+100,'Data'!E:E),'Data'!E:E,0)

Hi - When I finish editing a formula containing a countif calculation, it
changes from a formula to a regular cell, despite the '=' and I get a message
that my formula contains a constant. The formula reads exactly as a working
one below, and I can't seem to get it to work, even ...

when using a pivot - the word "BLANK" transfers in when the data sheet
has a blank area...
How can I get that to be just blank so that I can use that cell in a
conditional formatting scenario?

I put questionaires results in excel worksheet. In several columns, the data
is in text format. I want to shows all the text in another worksheet as a
summary of result. I can't find any formula suitable for the task. Any
suggestion?

I'll explain this the best I can and hopefully some kind soul can help me.

What I would like to do is repeat this equation through the 23rd row and

Hi,  I have a large list of multiple different types of items.  I want to
asign each item a code that I have created.  There are about 5,000 items and
I need to apply about 30 codes.  It seems simple enough biut I can't figure
