Is it possible to do the following:
I want to make a cell change color depending on the value of a
different cell.
So for example if A2 = "100" then I want cell A1 to change color.

The reply to my problem below did bring the variable over to column b,
however, the fill option repeats the same variable in row 1 and does not
extract the data in every 3rd row. What do you mean by copy down? nine
thousand records!

My tab scrolling buttons (the arrows by the tabs) are not responding. I have

I am looking for a function, that does not rely on vb code behind the scene,

I do not have microsoft access.  One of the benefits of access is that entire
rows of data will sort when you want them to.  Example:  a birthday column

I am doing a game for use in lessons .
Kids have to type in a cell an item to buy i.e apple. the price is entered
in an adjacent cell from a vlookup table:
Range 1      Range 2

Start date and time is 9/12/05 06:35, finish date and time is 9/13/05 13:45.
TOTAL hours are 31 hrs 10 min. I tried different forulas and would only get 7
hrs 10 mins. excel kept leaving off the 24 hours. Is there someway I can get
excel to add the total hours without leaving off ...

One column is made up of codes (numbers  (1-100), which are repeated and not
arranged in a certain way).  The column next to it is composed of minutes
spend to complete a particular code (minutes change).

I have a field called Contact that has First Name and Last Name.  I would
like to split this into 2 cells, one for First Name and one for Last Name.
