I am a teacher and use a spreadsheet to keep a record of when students have
completed an assignment.
I need to produce a monthly report detailing how many students completed
each unit within the last month.

I'm trying to find a compact formula.
On sheet1 cell A1, I want to test that cells A1 on sheets 2 through sheet
102 contain text: "goat".
Has anyone thought of a compact formula? (maybe it's an array formula)

I have a seating chart with a cell I don't see a formula for. I can

I have some functions in my spreadsheet that returns "#REF!".  That is OK,
however I'm wondering if there is a way to format the spreadsheet to not
display the "#REF!" but instead just a blank cell?

My data set varies in length and would like my SUM IF formula to always pick
that out. I’d like to eliminate going into the formula and changing the 5000.
There are never any blanks.

Is there a way to ignore the alpha characters and only look at the numerical

I want to shade a cell a specific color dependent upon an IF statement.
ex. IF(a>b, color the cell red, color the cell green)
What (if any) is the call to change the cells color?

I'm updating data on a workbook I didn't create.  Worksheet A begins on line
1, worksheet B and C begin on line 3.  Lines 1 and 2 are missing from the
worksheet.  If you attempt to insert a line on worksheets B or C the new line
inserts below line 3.

I am trying to get Conditional formatting to achieve a result to no avail.
Here is what I'd like it to do:
Column A - if cell, in Row is >0 then shade active Row (ColumnA:ColumnM)YELLOW
THEN if cell in Column J is >0 then shade activated Row (ColumnA:ColumnM)

I would like to set up a formula that recognizes the text (i.e. render or
"R") I have noted in a cell and assign a color to it...whichever color I have

when I put a dash (0005 - 001) excel changes the dash to a zero and it is
driving me freakin crazy. It just started doing this.
