I know Excel has a function for counting letter/characters in a cell, but I don't want it to count spaces. Any way to accomplish this? And forgive me if topic exists somewhere on this forum. I wanted to do a search first, but clicking on "search" does nothing.

I'm trying to conditonal formatting cells to highlight yellow when the cell is the max number. My problem is when trying to formatt the cells for example: cell G307 thru G327 and then skip a few cells then cells G330 thru G360 it does not work

i think this is probally the easiest thing in the world to do but i dont know how. i want to transfer excel files from one computer to another via cd. how do i do that? i put the cd in the source computer and thats as far as i get. where do i go from there?

When ever i start excel 2003 and type numbers they come up as text so i can not use any functions, i have tried formatting the cells to numbers but this does not work, i have even re-installed office with no luck, can any body help me
