I know Excel has a function for counting letter/characters in a cell,
but I don't want it to count spaces.  Any way to accomplish this?
And forgive me if topic exists somewhere on this forum.  I wanted to do
a search first, but clicking on "search" does nothing.

I'm trying to conditonal formatting cells to highlight yellow when the  cell
is the max number. My problem is when trying to formatt the cells for example:
cell G307 thru G327 and then skip a few cells then cells G330 thru G360 it
does not work

i think this is probally the easiest thing in the world to do but i dont know
how.  i want to transfer excel files from one computer to another via cd.  
how do i do that?  i put the cd in the source computer and thats as far as i
get.  where do i go from there?

I need to prepare a report on a periodical basis of inventory on hand
Qty, value & age ( 0-30,31-60, 61-90 days etc.) In the database I will
have few cost components of each purchase  ( FOB, Duty, Freight etc.)

I want to write formula that adds amounts in a range ofcells and if < a
number, enter sum, but if => than number, only add difference between sum and
number?  I believe it to be an sumif function but can't seem to layout
formula.

I have created a pivot table which includes a column showing times.  The data
list has the column formatted as hh:mm, but the same information in the pivot
table comes out in hh:mm:ss format.  I re-format it, but everytime I refresh
data it reverts back to the hh:mm:ss format.  ...
