I am trying to get one formula work but no success.

seperate cell telling you  if that check box is checked.

a:a has is a range of monthly purchases and c:c is which month purchased. I
would like on a different sheet to calculate only those gas purchases in
january (automatically).
I tried this but did not succeed:

I usually do a monthly work schedule.  It is from Monday thruogh Saturday.  
It is done on as a Word 2003 document.  I have now been advised that it is
needed in the Excell 2003 program.
