Is there a way to retrieve the text content of a cell in the same way that a SUMPRODUCT function will retrieve numeric content? If not is it possible to retrieve the ROW number of the cell in a SUMPRODUCT (?) in order to use it in an INDIRECT function?

I am trying to set up a formula to count the number of data occurances each quarter. I currently am using the function : =COUNTIF('Tower Age'!B6:B80,"12/31/2005") but that only gives me the occurances of that date.

have spreadsheet with error categories which uses a dropdown list the user chooses from and the error categories are populated with a "1" if my if/mid formula is true. however, pivot table results are wrong... how to correct??

In calculating commissions, I come accross #value! message when certain criterias are not met. I want to replace this sign with 0. How do I do this? Becuase this error message is in the middle, the bottom line figures are not correct. Help

I want to create a column in my worksheet. What this column will tell me is that whatever text in column A that has the word fullfillment will return fullfillment to my column, whatever text in column A that has the word Marin will return Marin to my new column, etc.

We use large Excel files with filters. I waste time scrolling across columns to make sure what filters are still on or off. Is there a feature in Excel where you can look to see what columns have filters on them?
