If i have a table with similar names and values next to the name, how can I
sum up all of those numbers similar to a vlookup function where i could say
"total all numbers 1 column away from 'petty cash'"?

I am trying to create a forumula that will auto-generate my Provincial
(State) and Federal Tax based on where my customer is.
I have five different  tax regions (this will expand) and I have two
possible tax calculations per region.

I want to compare data on one sheet with data on another sheet (within the
same file) and then populate cells with data from that other sheet.  For

Column B (Sheet 1) has data that may have duplicate data from Column A

I have 40 Workbooks, that I wish to merge into one.

I have a column of data which is calculated based on the column adjacent to
it.  I want to create an IF statement that will check to see if the number in
the column is div/0 or #num! and if it is, display the value above it instead
of trying to calculate something.

I have a spreadsheet with 97 individual tabs.  One tab is the complete
report, the other 96 tabs are paste links pulling from the main spreadsheet.  
I have the issue where the paste links on the 96 tabs will not update

In Lotus (Yuck) you can color code or put a color backgraound on each tab.  
How can I do that for Excel?  I have Excel 2000.

Is it possible to number a working sheet and have that number automatically
change each time the excel document is opened?

The Excell "solver" does not want to install the usual way via Tools etc.  I
have done both the windows and office updates as well.  What other
suggestions?
