I need to add the 'date last modified' of one spreadsheet into a cell of
another spreadsheet and have it update whenever the spreadsheet is opened.
i.e. in cell A1 of spreadsheet B, i would like to show the date last
modified of spreadsheet A and whenever spreadsheet B is opened ...

I'm having trouble concatenating a text string with a date:
I cell a1 I have the date 03-may-06
In a different cell I have the function:
=CONCATENATE(" This date: ",a1)

I am trying to use the vlookup function and it is returning the value in the
cell in the row just above the appropriate value in the table I am searching.
For example, when my lookup_value corresponds to A3 (in the table below),
the function is returning B2:

How can I put all of three of these if statements into one cell?  For
example I want to say if it equals the 1st one than this is true but if
it equals the 2nd one than this is true, if it equals the 3rd one than

Can someone please help me. I just learned how to angle my cells. But once I
type in those cells I lose my lines surrounding the cell. i checked they are
still there (in the formatted cells). but even in print preview they are gone.

hello, i want to use a COUNTA function to count the occupied cells in each
column in an excel spreadsheet.  However, the cells i want to count are every
4th cell & not the ones inbetween.  i can use =COUNTA(c7,c11,c15,c19....) but
my list size goes into to 1,000's & i only know ...
