I was wondering whether there is a function in Excel (or if it is
possible to write a Macro) that allows you to change the formula within
a given cell to just its value (that the formula calculated), if a
certain condition is met.

Using ASP 3.0, I give the user the ability to create a spreadsheet with a
click. In the resulting spreadsheet, I have 2 columns which contain dates,
and which were created by almost exactly the same code, yet they behave

When I enter a figure into a cell and click onto the % icon, it doesn't
simply add a % sign at the end of the figure, it changes it into something
else altogether - what is it doing?
Also, if I then delete the figure and enter another one, it does just put

I have entered some error checking formulas into a worksheet to ensure the
user is aware that someone was missing or entered incorrectly.  However, the
user must look at the error columns to see the messages (they can filter on
the columns for the messages).

I'm using a simple Countif in XL2003 so don't need to CSE it. It fights with
a named range and I cannot see why. It worked when I set it up, but the
