Why would you need to press the F9 key in order to total a subtotal after
entering a new value into a cell?

I'm linking a worksheet to a table on a website on Internet. The data on
the table is in the following format:
LETTER    NUMBER    COLOR
Alpha    One    Green

I do have a long column in which I write down flying hours:
The sum function works for 5 rows maximum. I am not able to sum 400 rows.
Any idea what to do?

I need to insert check figures on my spreadsheet that equal the sum of a
number's digits.  If cell A1 = 12,345.67, is there a formula that in cell A2
would add the digits 1+2+3+4+5+6+7 to equal 28?
