does anyone know if you can fourth root numbers on an excel spreadsheet?

I have a worksheet in which various times are expressed in the cell format:
h:mm
I need to add columns of data in this format and express the total in hours.
I am finding, though, that once the total exceeds 24 hours, the format

I have an column of numbers, e.g.
a1 - 0.03
a2 - 0.17
a3 - 0.35

How to insert data & automatically push remainder forward. Ex. put jacob
between jerry & sue?
john     james    jerry
sue     sharron     sam

In Excel, I have a series of formulas that outputs one of six results....
let's say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (for simplicity).  I would like to assign a
color to each of the results of the formulas.  So 1 would be blue, 2 would be
green, etc.  Excel limits me to 3 conditional formats ...

I have a worksheet that i want to use to keep track of my bank account i.e
money in and money out to give me a total in the third column and cannot work
the formula out as 1 column is taking away and the secon column is adding?????

I'm attempting to use the frequency function but seem to be getting the wrong
solutions.
Th formula is thus: in c2:c5  =Frequency(a2:a17,b2:b5)
It looks to me like the formula is fouling.

I am looking to create two different lists for users to chose from.  However,
I would like the second list to be dependent upon the item selected in the
first list.  Is this possible?

When I am done entering info on one line and hit Enter/Return sometimes it
goes  to the next row in column A and sometimes it goes to another cell in
the next row.  There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Is there a
way to set it return where you want?

excel 2003.  we obtain national download monthly for our 1000 member group.
Need a way to cross check and update information quickly.  13 columns per
member to check.

Help please! I trying to get an Excel workbook to number it's sheets
sequentially - can this be done??

I am trying to import info on some cells to another worksheet. I type = in
the destination sheet and click the cell I want from the original sheet but
the number is coming up as 0 in the destination cell. Some of the cells I do
this with are fine and others will give me 0.

I want to pull the workshet name automatically from a cell within the
worksheet so that it is dynamic.
