I have a field in Excel containing numbers. When I import to Access, the data is lost. Other numeric fields in the same worksheet are imported just fine. This happens both with Access 97 and with Access 2003, and it doesn't matter if I save the Excel file to tabbed-text or DBF. ...

I inherited a worksheet where first and last name are combined in one cell (i.e. Jane Doe) The first name is listed first. Can I sort this this by the LAST name? How? If not, how can I split the text into two cells FIRST NAME and LAST NAME?

Excel is pausing for a very long time during copy/paste. It takes 10+ seconds to copy a single cell (text only), and another 10+ to paste. It is as if Excel (or another program) is performing another task in between. Thoughts?
